What is Ocuflox eye drops used for?
This formulation is used to treat eye infections. The active constituent, Ofloxacin is a member of a family of drugs known as quinolone antibiotics. The medications of this class act by preventing the growth of bacteria. Ocuflox eye drops only treat bacterial eye infections.
What are the side effects of Ocuflox drug product?
The most commonly observed side effects of this drug product include temporary blurred vision, itching, redness and dryness of eyes, and eye pain, etc. These side effects are mild and they disappear after the active component eliminates from the body.
How long should I use Ocuflox eye drops?
In case of infection of the conjunctiva in adults and children one year of age and above, instill one drop in the affected eye every two to four hours for two days. Later, instill one drop in each eye four times daily day for five more days. Consult your physician for dose in infants below one year of age
How does Ocuflox product work?
Ofloxacin present in these eye drops act by preventing an enzyme necessary for the bacterial DNA to reproduce, thus impeding the bacterial cell division.
Can you use Ocuflox eye drops in the ear?
Avoid doing so as far as possible. However, the Ofloxacin 0.3% eye drops are a good substitute for eardrops.
