Action Mechanism
Rosulip (rosuvastatin) is a selective inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase, an enzyme responsible for cholesterol biosynthesis. The drug inhibits this enzyme to lower the amount of cholesterol made in the liver. The drug produces lipid-modifying effects by inhibiting the hepatic synthesis of bad cholesterol (LDL). Rosulip has been found effective when used along with other lifestyle modifications, such as eating a healthy diet, exercise, and quitting smoking.
